Mismaloya Puerto Vallarta Mismaloya is a small village south to Puerto Vallarta and Mismaloya is the location where the international interest in the Banderas Bay finds its beginning. John Huston, the famous Hollywood movie director, made his masterpiece "The night of the Iguana" there. With the related stories and love affairs between the Hollywood stars the whole area including Puerto Vallarta became famous over night. Today Mismaloya is one of the most interesting areas south to Vallarta featuring several recommendable hotels and resorts, a nearby zoo, restaurants, bars and many activities like snorkeling or canopy. Visitors interested in the history of cinema still find the John Huston house ( privately owned area, access only through tours ), the heli from Arnold Schwarzeneggers movie Predator and some other interesting relicts of a glorious time.
